Here’s an incredibly rare ITG (Iskolai Taneszközök Gyára) Ribbon Microphone that was made in Budapest, Hungary in the 1960’s. ITG manufactured projectors and other audio / lighting equipment. This is the first microphone of this type that I’ve seen come up for sale, and it has high build quality with a unique ribbon motor inside. This motor is unique in that the backside of the ribbon is blocked, making it uni-directional in nature. The result is a bright ribbon with lots of character. Overall I’d recommend this microphone on acoustic instruments, and any source that needs and added layer or brightness / character.
