Here’s an LEM Model 305 Ribbon Microphone from the 1950’s! These ribbons were made in France and while there isn’t much information on the manufacturer “LEM”, they made many different high quality dynamic and ribbons microphones in France. This model 305 was designed to be a utility microphone for “orchestral re-transmission, theaters, speeches, etc.” Today, these make nice guitar amp & drum microphones when looking for a dark tone with some color and nice proximity effect. This microphone was originally high impedance so it was converted to low impedance with a Cinemag transformer and balanced cable to XLR.
