Aiwa VM-15 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an Aiwa VM15 Ribbon Microphone from the 1960’s! There were many great microphones coming out of Japan in the 1960’s to compete with popular USA models. Aiwa and other Japanese manufacturers built with impressive engineering and high sound quality that could compete with other high end models at the time. These Aiwa VM15’s are some of my favorite, as they have a nice output, clear top end, and work nicely on a variety of sources. Overall they have a dark sound with plenty of low end that translates great on drums. Despite looking similar to an RCA 77, these are much smaller in size. For the price, these are fantastic ribbons that will beat out others in the same or higher price range. This one is clean and comes with a new XLR cable, ribbon, and original case. This one also has a new Lundahl transformer (it was originally high impedance). Grab this incredible sounding VM15 from Aiwa!
