Altec 670B Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an Altec 670B Ribbon Microphone from the 1960’s! While the 670 somewhat resembles it’s larger brother, the 639, the 670 is a very different ribbon microphone. Unlike the 639 the 670 does not have a ribbon element. These microphones have a stronger output and employ “P, C, and R” settings. P: Pressure (omni) which blocks the back side of the ribbon. C: Cardiod which only partially blocks the back side of the ribbon. R: Ribbon (bi-directional) which leaves the back of the ribbon open. The 670B is a great option if your looking for a classic warm ribbon with a decent proximity effect. This one has some medium wear to the body and is functioning perfectly with a brand new ribbon. Grab this 670B Ribbon Microphone from Altec!
