BBC L2 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s a BBC L2 Ribbon Microphone from the 1950’s! In the 1930’s, BBC sought out for a microphone that would block the transmission of unwanted sounds in noisy environments - the answer was the L1 Lip Microphone. In the 1950’s an improved version was released and known as the L2. These microphones were the precursor to the popular STC and Coles 4104, which has become a broadcasting classic. The L2 came with a BBC Equalizer Unit that allows for different EQ selections while in use. The microphone for sale tonight has its original ribbon and comes with its original EQ box in great working order. These microphones have lots of high end for a ribbon, and the added EQ box allows for different adjustments to the sound. If you’ve been looking for a unique ribbon, this is the microphone for you! Grab this historic L2 ribbon microphone that was made in England!
