Film Industries M8 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s another Film Industries M8 Ribbon, made in England in the 1960’s. These have a very classic “pillowy” low end, and have best results on loud sources. The M8 is 30 ohms, so you’ll need a good amount of gain or a nice pre. I’d recommend these on guitar amps and drums (maybe even in front of a kick). Specifically, I think this is a great ribbon for blending with a dynamic - it will get the low end and warmth you need while the dynamic will pick up the rest. This one in particular has its goose neck connector, which allows for easy placement in whatever position is necessary. It mounts to any standard stand, and has a brand new cable and XLR. Grab an old ribbon from England to add some warmth to your microphone locker!
