GEC Model BCS-2373 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s a rare GEC ribbon microphone, made in England in the late 1940’s! GEC modeled this microphone after the BBC-Marconi type AX. These microphones rarely come up for sale, let alone in near mint condition like this one! This GEC has a very natural and smooth sound that I’d recommend on drums, guitar amps, horns, and more. As this microphone was made in the late 40’s, it’ll have the best results on loud sources but is usable on acoustic type instruments with a nice pre. This one has a large horseshoe magnet, so you’ll need to be conscious of its location in a room to avoid noise. This one has a new Geistnote transformer, cable to XLR, and new ribbon! Buy a rare 1940’s microphone that not too many people can say they have in their studio!
