MBHO MB301 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an MBHO MB301 Ribbon Microphone from the 1960’s! The MB301 is a truly unique ribbon, which was presumably made by Beyer as MBHO sold other versions of their microphones, and the MB301 comes stock with a Beyer piston ribbon inside. Unlike the M260 (the closest ribbon alike), the 301 has a longer ribbon with a large cast magnet (as opposed to 4 rectangular magnets glued together in the M260). Despite their differences, the 301 does sound similar to the M260, though it has more high end. This MB301 has been serviced and is sounding great, with a new tuchel to XLR cable. It has some imperfections to the body as it was repainted at some point. If you’re looking for a unique ribbon that works well on high SPL sources, this is the microphone for you!
