Here’s a pair of Oktava ML-51 Ribbon Microphones from 1985! These were both made during the same year and have been matched with new ribbons and upgraded Cinemag transformers. The ML-51 was originally an active microphone that ran on a rare battery but they are more reliable (and better sounding) microphones when switched to a passive transformer! These ribbons have a ton of low end, and make a great fit on drums. Whether it’s overheads, as a kick mic, or on toms, these make a great utility ribbon microphone pair for drum uses.
