RCA 74-B Ribbon Microphone
Here's an RCA 74-B Ribbon Microphone from the 1940’s! RCA originally made these 74-B’s as a “junior velocity” introduction into the ribbon market. The 74-B was intended for PA use and broadcasting, but has become known as a great studio tool for guitar amps and more. If you’re looking for the boomy proximity effect of an RCA 44, these are not what you’re looking for! The 74-B has a built in rolloff in the transformer that was originally designed for better results with public speaking. These ribbons have a magic effect on guitar amps and bring out the warmth and sparkle that you want to hear. This one has been serviced with a new ribbon and cable, ready for use! This one has some blemishes to the paint and also had a Cannon connector installed a long time ago where I assume this was used in a radio station. Grab this classic 74-B Ribbon Microphone from RCA!
