RCA 74 "MI-4010-A" Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an RCA 74 “MI-4010-A” Ribbon Microphone from the 1930’s! These were the first of the 74 line, made before the 74-A and B models! These microphones were expensive and highly praised at the time, selling for $43.50 in 1935 (which is almost $1,000 today). These ribbons have a different motor than the A and B models, with 3 horseshoe magnets supporting the motor. Like the other models, these microphones shine on guitars and can warm up a wide variety of sources. This one has a new ribbon and cable, ready for use! As this is a nearly 90 year old microphone, the noise can vary based on the room and placement. If you’re looking for a classic ribbon, this is the microphone for you! Grab this 74 Ribbon Microphone from RCA!
