RCA BK-4A Starmaker Ribbon Microphone
Here’s a rare RCA Starmaker from the 1950’s! After the release of RCA’s successful 44 and 77 microphones, they set out to make smaller microphones for film and TV without sacrificing the high sound quality. The BK-4A was originally referred to as RCA’s “disappearing microphone” as there was nothing else with its slim body on the market at the time. This BK-4A sounds fantastic on every source. I’d recommend it for vocals, acoustics, guitar amps, as a mono drum overhead, as a room microphone, and more. The BK-4A is bright for a ribbon microphone, with an open sound that creates a smooth and natural feel on every source. This microphone is in fantastic condition with its original ribbon still in perfect shape. Grab this rare RCA ribbon with a great sound for a unique ribbon option!
