RCA PB-90 Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an RCA PB-90 Ribbon Microphone from the 1930’s! These PB-90’s were the precursor to the RCA 44A and BX Ribbon Microphones. These microphones have the same style ribbon motor as an RCA 44A. While the PB90 and 44A are often compared with the 44-BX, they have a very different sound and less proximity effect due to a different ribbon motor build that uses horseshoe magnets. Despite their differences, the PB-90 has all of the great characteristics of an early RCA ribbon microphone. These microphones have a silky smooth high end, with nice output that translates well for drums, guitars, vocals, horns, and more. This one has a new ribbon + cable and is in great condition for a nearly 100 year old microphone. If you’ve been looking for a classic RCA ribbon, this is the microphone for you! Grab this PB-90 Ribbon Microphone from the early days of RCA!
