RCA Varacoustic Ribbon Microphone
Here’s a near mint RCA Varacoustic Ribbon Microphone from the early 1950’s! The RCA Varacoustic has the same ribbon motor as a 77-D/DX with a different body, acoustical labyrinth, and transformer. This Varacoustic was originally the high impedance version so I replaced the transformer with a Cinemag CM-9887 (they make these specifically for the RCA Varacoustic). Overall, the sound of these microphones is warm and smooth - versatile for guitars, drums, horns, vocals, and more! You’ll get a nice open ribbon sound with this microphone. The condition is stunning for it’s age, with just one small bump on the front right side. This Varacoustic has been serviced with a new cable and ribbon, ready for studio use! Grab a classic RCA ribbon microphone in stunning condition!
