RCA Varacoustic Ribbon Microphone
Here’s are two RCA Varacoustic Ribbon Microphones from the 1950’s (2 Available at $850 Each)! One of these Varacoustics has its original transformer (pictured right in first 3 photos), the other has a Cinemag replacement transformer (pictured left in first 3 photos). These Varacoustics share the same ribbon motor as an RCA 77D/DX! While their ribbon motors are the same, the Varacoustic / 77 have different bodies, acoustic labyrinths, transformers, etc. Regardless of their differences, the RCA Varacoustic is a great ribbon microphone of its own. These microphones have great warmth + depth that work great for acoustics, drums, vocals, horns, and more. While having generally less top end than the 77, the Varacoustic shares many of the other same qualities due to the identical ribbon motor. If you’ve been looking for a classic ribbon from RCA, these Varacoustics are very affordable compared with other high end RCA’s. Both of these microphones have a new ribbon, cable, and replaced grill cloth. Overall they are in good condition with a few marks here and there to their bodies! Grab one of these Varacoustics from the glory days of RCA Ribbon Microphones!
