Shure 315 Ribbon Microphone
Here's a 1960’s Shure 315 Ribbon microphone. This microphone is Bi-directional, as opposed to the Uni-directional 330. This ribbon has a brighter top end than many other ribbons. It still has a warm ribbon sound, but doesn’t have a huge bottom end or proximity effect. I’d recommend this one for guitar amps, acoustics, as a room microphone, or even on a snare top. Overall, this is a great option to get into the world of vintage ribbon microphones. This 315 has a new ribbon, ready for years of studio use. It has a some pitting and wear from over the years, but overall looks good. Grab a classic USA made Shure ribbon from the 60’s!
