Shure PE54 Unidyne III Dynamic Microphone (Transformerless)
Here's a Shure PE54 (Professional Entertainer) Dynamic Microphone from the 1970’s! The Shure PE line was a high impedance line of mic’s that were manufactured for stage use. I’ve gone in and bypassed the transformers in this microphone, making it low impedance with a balanced output. Bypassing the transformers in Shure microphones is a common practice as it adds low end and enhanced transients while sounding more natural in the high end (the trade off is less gain overall). This microphone is sounding great, and makes a perfect option on vocals, snare, guitar amps, and more. The on / off switch has been bypassed in this microphone for ease of use.
