Thomson French Ribbon Microphone (#2)
Here’s a rare Thomson ribbon microphone (#2), made in France in the 1940’s! This microphone was clearly based on RCA’s 74-B - the internals are almost the exact same dimensions. This microphone has a typical warm ribbon sound, with a bit more low end and depth than a 74-B. This one has been serviced with a new cable and ribbon - it has been wired for it's full frequency (musique) setting. Overall this one is in nice condition for it's age! Very few of these were made and didn’t make their way over to the US so this may be the only time you see this microphone available for sale. Grab this rare French ribbon microphone to add a unique yet very usable ribbon to your studio! Click here to listen to this microphone.
