Aiwa VM-12 Ribbon Microphone
Here's an Aiwa VM-12 Ribbon Microphone from the 1960’s (2 Available at $500 Each)! These are one of many different Japanese ribbons that were modeled after the cosmetics of RCA ribbons. Despite looking similar to the RCA 77, these are smaller in size and have very different internals. While some Japanese ribbons have a small ribbon gap similar to the RCA 77, these VM-12’s have a similar ribbon size to the RCA 74-B. These microphones have a solid low end and dark sound that makes them a great match for drum placements and more. These have new ribbons, upgraded Geistnote transformers (they were originally high impedance models), and new XLR cables. If you’ve been looking for a classic looking vintage ribbon, this is the microphone for you! Grab one of these VM-12 Ribbon Microphones from Aiwa!
