Aiwa VM-17B Ribbon Microphone
Here's an Aiwa VM-17B Ribbon Microphone from the 1980's! Aiwa made a variety of different high quality ribbon microphones through the years; the VM-17 was the last and highest quality ribbon they made. Unlike the other Aiwa ribbons aimed at mirroring RCA's 77-D/DX, the VM-17 is nearly the same size. These ribbons are only bi-directional, with a 5-position bass roll-off on the bottom of the microphone. These ribbons have a crystal clear top end, with a pronounced proximity effect that can either be overly present, or rolled off with the roll-off settings. While Aiwa didn't make many of this later B model, it is one of the finest they made with one of the most impressive sounds. If you've been looking for a lower priced alternative to the RCA 77, this is the microphone for you. This microphone is in near mint condition, in its original case with the original frequency chart and a new ribbon installed. Grab this top of the line VM-17B ribbon microphone from Aiwa!
