Here’s an AKG D12E Dynamic Microphone from the 1980’s! AKG’s D12E was the later version of the D12, and featured the same design as the original D12 with a few updated parts. The D12E has a plastic bass chamber (the original was metal), the diaphragm is made of a different material than some of the early D12 models, and the body requires a clip as opposed to the original using a cable / threaded adapter mounted to the body. Overall, the tones are similar, but the D12E tends to have a tad deeper low end than the earlier models. This D12E has been serviced and retains its full low end.
