AKG D99C "Harry" Binaural Stereo Dynamic Microphone
Here's an AKG D99C "Harry" Stereo Dynamic Microphone from the 1970's! These microphones consist of two omni-directional dynamic microphones mounted inside the head and pointed towards the ears. The result is a unique stereo image with pickup capabilities similar to the human head. These microphones sound very lo-fi, with a bright crunchy tone that makes for a nice character room microphone. In their stock form the D99C comes with unbalanced cables, so I modded this one for balanced outputs to XLR which greatly improves the noise of these microphones. Overall this D99C is in great condition for its age, with a few marks here are there on the body. This one also comes with a period correct mounting stand. If you've been looking for a vibey room microphone and conversation piece for the studio, this is the microphone for you! Grab this D99C "Harry" from AKG!
