Here's an American DR332 ribbon microphone from the 1950's! These microphones originally used a combination of a ribbon and dynamic element, though this one has been modded for the ribbon mode only with a new Cinemag transformer. American made this microphone model without the dynamic element and labeled it as a model 331 - this microphone is essentially just that. American made a variety of different dynamic microphones however this is the only ribbon model they produced. This microphone has a dark sound with a thick low end. I would specifically recommend this microphone for all drum uses, though it makes a nice match with guitar amps as well.
