Argonne AR-57 (Modded) Dynamic Microphone
Here's a 1960's Argonne AR-57 microphone that was modded with a 1960's Sennheiser 402/1 Capsule. These Argonne AR-57's were made in Japan to look like a classic "pill" shaped RCA microphone. Their internals were originally crystals that degrade over time and are unreliable. I fitted this AR-57 with a Sennheiser 402/1 capsule, which is the first version of the famous MD409 capsule (the 409 uses a 402/3). The 402/1 capsule I used has a bright and open sound. It features a bass chamber on the back of the capsule, so these AR-57 bodies make a perfect housing. This one has a standard XLR cable and is ready for use! Grab a classic looking Japanese pill microphone with upgraded internals!
