Electro Voice V2 Ribbon Microphone
Here's an Electro Voice V2 Ribbon Microphone from the 1940's! Electro Voice made a variety of ribbon microphones throughout the 1940's - 1960's, many of which have weak magnets and poor sound quality. These early V2 ribbons have a different motor than the later V1 and V2 EV microphones, with superior quality. Later EV ribbons used a single magnet for their ribbon motors, where the early V2's (like the one here for sale), used a horseshoe magnet structure suspended inside the body. This microphone has been restored with a ribbon replacement, new XLR cable, and a new Cinemag transformer. This microphone has a dark, boomy sound and works best on high SPL sources. If you're looking for a dark sounding microphone for brighter sources, this is the microphone for you. Grab this early V2 ribbon microphone from Electro Voice!
