RCA 74 (MI-4010-A) Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an RCA 74 (MI-4010-A) Ribbon Microphone from the 1930’s. The MI-4010-A was RCA’s first version of the 74 which was made around the year 1935. This one had a completely different motor than the 74-B, but a similar ribbon gap / size. The 74-B was released in the early 40’s and produced for the next 10 + years. While both of these microphones have some differences, they are both high quality ribbon microphones for various studio uses. The MI-4010-A has a thick low end while the 74-B has more mid-range and high end (which works well on guitar amps). This MI-4010-A is in fantastic condition for it's age and have been serviced with a new ribbon, cable, and Cinemag transformer. Grab this classic early junior velocity ribbon microphone from RCA!
