RCA 77-DX Ribbon Microphone
Here’s an RCA 77-DX Ribbon Microphone from the 1960’s! The iconic RCA 77-DX was known as “poly-directional” due to its variable directional patterns available via the adjustable acoustic labyrinth on the backside of the microphone. While the 77-DX is the same exact build as the 77-D, the DX model has a few db of extra gain due to some changes in the transformer. Overall this 77-DX is in great cosmetic condition, with a few chips to the center section of the microphone. This 77 also has a cannon connector mod, signifying that it was likely used in a radio station for most of its life. The M/V switch on this microphone is faulty, so the microphone is set to its full frequency M setting. Overall, this microphone is sounding great with a new ribbon + XLR cable. RCA 77’s are versatile ribbons that sound great on drums, vocals, horns, guitars, and more! Grab this RCA 77-DX if you’ve been looking for a great deal on a classic ribbon microphone!
