RCA 77-DXM Ribbon Microphone
Here’s a rare RCA 77-DXM Ribbon Microphone, made in Japan in the 1960’s! RCA had divisions in both the UK and Japan - I’ve seen UK made RCA Varacoustic + 44-BX’s, and Japanese RCA 77’s. This model is the 77-DXM, which is nearly identical to an RCA 77-DX. The few noticeable differences are the lack of the RCA band in the middle of the microphone, and the Japanese RCA logo + addition of the “M” on the pattern selector. Internally these have the same ribbon motor and transformer spec’s as the USA models. The 77-DX is one of RCA’s most famous designs, with an acoustic labyrinth that allows for different polar patterns and bass roll-off switch on the bottom of the microphone. Overall this microphone is sounding great with a new ribbon, new cable, and new paint. If you’ve been looking for an RCA 77-D or DX and like the rarity of the Japanese version, this is the microphone for you! Grab this Japanese made RCA 77-DXM!
