RCA SK-46 Ribbon Microphone

$450.00 USD
Here’s an RCA SK-46 ribbon microphone from the mid 1950’s! These are some of the smallest ribbon microphones RCA made, but the small size doesn’t translate to the sound. The RCA SK-46 has a deep low end and dark sound overall that blends nicely with dynamics and thickens up any source that needs it. These get great results on drum kits as a room or crotch mic. The proximity effect is big on these, so you’ll want to keep that in mind when micing up acoustics, etc. Overall this one has some scratches to the finish and a few minor bumps on the grills, but has been fully restored with a new cable to XLR + new ribbon and is ready for use! Grab a lesser known RCA ribbon to add some low end and warmth to your studio!
