Here’s an original Shure SM7 dynamic microphone from the early 1980’s. Shure only made the SM7 in their USA factory for a few years before switching over to a factory in Mexico. The original USA SM7’s are sought after and also sound a bit different than today’s SM7B (there are some really great comparison videos out there if you are curious about the differences!). To my ear the SM7 sounds more natural and has more clarity in the high end compared to the SM7B. The SM7 is a classic microphone and owning one of the originals would be a great addition to any studio! I’d recommend this SM7 for vocals, guitars, drums (I’ve seen quite a few people using them on hi-hat lately), and more. This SM7 is in good condition for its age with a few marks here and there to the body. It will come with a brand new pop filter.
