STC 4033A Ribbon & Dynamic Microphone
Here's an STC 4033A Ribbon & Dynamic Microphone from the 1950's! Like the Altec 639, this STC 4033A has both ribbon and dynamic elements inside. Made in England by STC (the same maker of the famous 4038), the 4033A uses the same dynamic element as an STC 4021 (Ball & Biscuit), with a ribbon motor not found in any other microphone. I've found that these ribbon elements have a stronger output and low end response over the Altec 639. This 4033A was modded with individual ribbon and dynamic elements for added versatility (the switch no longer works, and there are two XLR outs for each element). This is a time consuming mod but allows the elements to be mixed at any combination that is desired. Overall, this STC 4033A is in near perfect condition and comes in its original box. This one has also received a ribbon replacement and comes with its original cable with a mounting stand attached. If you've been looking for a vintage microphone with great cosmetics, versatility, and a range of vintage tones - this is the microphone for you. Grab this 4033A ribbon & dynamic microphone from STC!
