Here’s a Tannoy Cardiod Ribbon Microphone from the 1950’s! Tannoy was a British manufacturer of speakers, microphones, PA equipment, and more. This Tannoy microphone is very rare to the point where the official model is unknown. What is known, is this is an incredible microphone in an inconspicuous body. This uni-directional ribbon can hang with the RCA BK-5B, and excels on guitar amps, drums, horns, acoustics and more. This one has a thick sound, with an impressive output. I’ve gone in and replaced the ribbon and added a new balanced cable to XLR. I was blown away with the sound quality of this ribbon, and know whoever ends up with it will as well. If you’re looking for a rare ribbon that can hold its own with much more expensive ribbons, this is the microphone for you. Grab this cardiod ribbon microphone from Tannoy!
