Turner Model 101A Ribbon Microphone
Here's a Turner Model 101A Ribbon Microphone from the 1950's! Turner was based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and made many different high quality USA made ribbon and dynamic microphones for PA, studio and military uses. This Turner 101 was one of their top of the line models, which originally had both a ribbon and dynamic microphone in one body. Like most other 101's out there, the dynamic element was dead in this microphone, so I bypassed it to make this 101 only function on its ribbon setting. The ribbon motor in this microphone was well made, and has a full sound and crisp high end. This microphone needs a good amount of gain on quiet sources, but has great results on drums. If you've been looking for a larger ribbon microphone on a budget, this is the ribbon for you! This microphone is in overall good condition with a few small cracks to the body. This one has a new ribbon and 3 pin to XLR cable. Grab this 101 Ribbon Microphone from USA based Turner!
